Through art, I aspire for people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to collaborate, respect each other, and build a better world. I continually challenge myself with new approaches, seeking creativity while maintaining flexibility. I hope this mindset inspires others to grow together and contribute to society.

Statement

Shinjiro Tanaka (b. 1985, Los Angeles) is a Tokyo-based multimedia artist who seamlessly blends the extraordinary with the everyday, exploring the intersection of modernity and universality through both analog and digital mediums. His work, shaped by diverse experiences in New York and influenced by street dance culture, delves into the depth of existence by juxtaposing detailed expressions with large-scale installations that evoke the microcosm and macrocosm of life.

With a base in Tokyo, Tanaka approaches a wide array of creative fields with a perspective unbound by genre. His portfolio spans canvas art, murals, digital installations, fashion design, and participatory projects. With a unique ability to traverse different mediums, his work invites viewers to engage with the intricate and expansive nature of existence.

Tanaka’s art is heavily influenced by his background in street dance, with a focus on rhythm, movement, and spatial flow, which manifests in both his visual works and interactive installations. His projects often incorporate public engagement, as seen in his mural projects and participatory events that build connections within communities and transform everyday spaces into shared creative experiences.

Through his collaborations with global brands and his involvement in large-scale public art, Tanaka continues to push the boundaries of traditional art forms, challenging audiences to see the world from fresh perspectives. His work highlights the importance of process, communication, and collaboration, offering a unique lens on both the physical and metaphysical aspects of life.
