Statement
Through art, I aspire for people with diverse perspectives and backgrounds to collaborate, respect each other, and build a better world. I continually challenge myself with new approaches, seeking creativity while maintaining flexibility.
I hope this mindset inspires others to grow together and contribute to society.

Shinjiro Tanaka is a Tokyo-based multimedia artist whose practice spans public art, spatial design, and live audiovisual performance.
Born in Los Angeles and raised in Tokyo, he moves fluidly between art, street culture, and technology, exploring how visual rhythm can connect people across physical and digital space.
At the heart of his work is Hazama—a Japanese word meaning “the in-between.”
For Tanaka, it represents a living field where analog and digital, body and technology, life and death overlap and transform.
Using primitive yet universal motifs such as dots and lines, he treats rhythm as the essence of life, tracing invisible connections that flow through people, environments, and time.
Tanaka approaches every wall and space as a site for dialogue.
His murals for Caption by Hyatt Kabutocho and POD Hotel Brooklyn, as well as a corporate mural for Fujitsu and creative collaborations with CHUMS, reimagine architecture and design as living canvases.
Through cross-disciplinary practice, he merges the raw energy of street expression with a meditative sense of structure.
Beyond commissioned projects, Tanaka has led community-based art initiatives in post-disaster regions such as Noto and Minamisoma, where he worked with residents and children to create murals and workshops that foster connection and recovery.
He has also appeared on national television in Japan as an art mentor, guiding members of Nogizaka46 and Sakurazaka46 in large-scale collaborative paintings that brought contemporary art into popular culture.
Tanaka views art not merely as self-expression, but as a practice of renewal—a way to reimagine how people relate to each other and their surroundings.
Through the lens of Hazama, he continues to explore new forms that connect people, space, and time within an ever-changing world.
